Welcome New Parents

Congratulations! Having a baby is one of the most exciting times in life. We share your joy and enthusiasm and look forward to many years of providing pediatric health care services to your children. Choosing the right doctor for your new baby is a milestone in itself. We warmly welcome you and your new baby to our practice.

Free “Meet the Doctor” Visit (Before the Baby Arrives)

If this is your first baby or you are new to our practice, please call us at 281.240.8374 or 281.208.9503 depending upon the office you want to visit, to schedule a free “Meet the Doctor” Visit.

When Your Baby Arrives!

The pediatrician on call for our practice will get in touch with you and your baby each day during your stay in the hospital to answer any questions and to discuss how the baby is doing. After you return home, you may schedule an office visit (within 5 days of birth) to check on the baby’s progress. Breastfeeding babies may be seen sooner to make sure they are gaining weight appropriately.

Remember, we are only a phone call away for prompt answers and advice! Our staff is committed to helping you care for your child and keeping your baby happy and healthy!

Your First Visit

Please contact our office during business hours to schedule your newborn’s first visit. We prefer to see your
baby 2-4 days after being discharged. During this visit we will evaluate your newborn’s feeding,
weight, or any possible issues.

For your visit, please bring your insurance card, child’s shot record, any discharge paperwork, and arrive 30 minutes early to complete the necessary patient information forms. Remember that you have 30 days to add your newborn to your insurance policy. Check with your insurance company for details on how to add your child to your policy.

Well Baby Visits

Regular well care and immunizations are key to keeping your baby healthy, monitoring development and preventing illness. Please call us during business hours to schedule well child care visits at the ages shown below (* indicates routine immunizations). Appointments for well care may be made three to four months in advance, so appointments for your baby’s next well care can easily be made while you are in our office for a current visit.

Beginning at 4 months of age, our reception staff will ask you to complete an Ages & Stages developmental screening questionnaire when you check in for your well care appointment. These developmental screening questionnaires are designed to provide early detection of any developmental delays, which is important in providing optimal intervention and treatment. We ask that you arrive 10 – 15 minutes early for your well care appointments, so that you will have sufficient time to complete these important questionnaires.

Including this initial visit, we recommend following well baby care schedule:

1st Visit,  2 Weeks, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 2 years

Well Care/Immunization Schedule:

We follow the immunization guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
